In this book the resultat of international scientific conference Framing Minds: English Education and Affective Neurosciences took place at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” (UNIOR) - Italy on 26-28 October 2017. The conference aimed to unveil and strengthen the link between affective neuroscience and English language education. The intent was to identify and propose novel, theory-based educational paradigms so as to facilitate second-language (L2) educators and learners’ endeavours. The focus was also on identifying innovative and empathic modalities that would ignite a contact with the contemporary digital generation of L2 learners of English as a second (ESL) or foreign language (EFL) and maintain it. The focus, however, extended to other language learners, too. In brief, the conference intended to open the floor to innovative investigations in educational neuroscience while giving voice both to EFL applied linguists, psycholinguists, neurologists, educators and practitioners, who had experimented with the most recent trends in their fields and intended to share their action research, expertise and realties with other inter/national experts as well as with students.
